Our recipes remain true to Peggy Lawton’s originals, with essential updates over time for modern standards and dietary needs. We could certainly use cheaper substitutes for our real chocolate or "trade down" any of our imported baking ingredients, but you would never get that rich, satisfying taste that makes Peggy Lawton an ongoing favorite. We could add preservatives to keep our baked goods on shelves for months, but we won't. That's how it was in 1949. That's how it is today.Why buy from us?

When you place an order with us on this site, we ensure the freshest possible cookies and brownies are shipped straight to your door. No other seller or site can offer that. However, please keep in mind, that our Chunk Chocolate and Sugar Shortbread cookies are baked less frequently than our other varieties and may have slightly sooner "best by" dates than other flavors of cookies you receive.

Our cookies and brownies have no preservatives and that hasn't changed since 1949. We are committed to giving you the freshest and most delectable treats possible, instead of baking a product that can sit on shelves for months. Because we do not use preservatives, our brownies' freshness date lasts about four weeks from production. Our cookies' freshness date lasts about six weeks. There are a number of individuals and companies attempting to sell Peggy Lawton products online. We are the real Peggy Lawton Kitchens and any other seller or site online is not. We can get our baked goods to you faster because we are not a third-party seller waiting for a local delivery to resell to you online. This is important for a product with no preservatives, and it means that you won't have to rush through enjoying them before the freshness date runs out.
What's the Best Way to Enjoy Peggy Lawton Cookies and Brownies?
Here are some ideas we've come up with after years of munching on and experimenting with our cookies and brownies.
Use Your Microwave
This is just about the best way to replicate and experience how our brownies and cookies taste when we first take them out of the oven. Take the three cookies out of the packaging and lay them out side-by-side on a paper towel. Some microwaves are stronger than others, but typically, 30 seconds will do the trick for three cookies. Be careful not to overheat the cookies as you may scorch them. An individual brownie usually takes about 15 seconds in the microwave.
Brownie Peanut Butter
Take the brownie out of the package and spread a thin layer of smooth, creamy peanut butter over the top of the brownie. Then heat for approximately 15 seconds in the microwave. Your microwave may differ, so use caution and don't overheat. Now enjoy your little piece of heaven.
Ice Cream Sandwich/Brownie Sundae/Toppings
There are several local shops that use our products in their ice cream sandwiches or brownie sundaes. Scoop your favorite ice cream in between two of our cookies to craft a heavenly ice cream sandwich. You can also place a brownie at the bottom of your bowl and scoop your favorite ice cream on top. Bonus tip: try heating the brownie for approximately 15 second in your microwave before scooping on the ice cream to create a brownie sundae that will melt in your mouth. If you want a perfect topping, crumble our cookies or brownies over the top of your favorite ice cream.

There are two ways to create this delectable treat. The first is at your next bonfire, use two Peggy Lawton cookies (Choco Chip and Chunk Chocolate are our favorites for this) in place of graham crackers and put the chocolate and warm marshmallows in between. If you are not next to a roaring bonfire, place two cookies on a plate or paper towel in the microwave with marshmallows on top of one of them, and heat for approximately 30 seconds. The time will vary depending on your microwave so be careful not to overheat. You can add the chocolate bar after you heat it, or some have even replaced the chocolate bar with chocolate sauce. Either way you do it, it's unbelievable!
